Suzuki Goro's work is based on traditional Mino styles: Shino, Oribe, Ki-Seto (Yellow Seto), Setoguro (Black Seto); and the Karatsu tradition. His works are both jocund and austere, such as his bowls painted with cars, bird-shaped pipes, and ceremonial tea ware. In 2002, Suzuki Goro received the very prestigious Japan Ceramic Society Prize.
